Dytran has just released a new series of ring style charge output force sensors. The 1210C series can be preloaded and used as force links for both tension and compression measurements.
These sensors resemble washers, as they are in the form of thin rings with through holes. They are designed to measure rapid or slowly changing dynamic forces in machines and in other applications where a through stud or bolt holds the sensor in place in a preloaded condition. The 1210C series can measure vibratory compressive forces over a wide frequency range and pulsing forces from punch and forming presses and other repetitive force applications as well as impact forces.
The 1210C series is available in 7 ranges, from 5,000 LbF to 100,000 LbF. Their nominal sensitivity is -18 pC/LbF and they feature a through hole mount, 10-32 radial connector, hermetic seal and stainless steel construction.
The outer diameter ranges from 0.65 inches to 2.95 inches, and their inner diameter from 0.26 inches to 1.61 inches. Their low profile and through hole design allows for minimal intrusion during machinery modifications, which reduces machinery downtime.
