During 2007, ELCAN Málaga is adding new capabilities that will expand the existing range of Electronics manufacturing technologies in our plant. This new equipment provides ELCAN Málaga with the opportunity to supply our Customers with the best and most efficient solution to their CCAs and complete systems manufacturing needs. Some of the new Capabilities are:

• Solvent-Base Cleaning System: a customized system that provides one of the most effective solutions for cleaning without water. Eliminating contamination and residues is especially critical for those CCAs that require coating application as protection.
• Parylene Coating Application System: provides an excellent moisture, corrosive environment, electrical & UV protection -- also recommended for tin-whiskers containment.
• Lead Free Selective Soldering: the through hole soldering process is tailored to the specific needs of each CCA and the overall quality is significantly improved.
• CCAs Routing Machine: a depanelling system that provides precise, stress free breakout and safe board handling without compromising the rigidity and strength of the panels.
• A New Surface Mount Assembly Line: provides for a high speed and very flexible capability in product change-over SMA line that supports the traceability requirements of the most demanding markets as medical and defence.
• Automatic Optical Inspections: through the addition of this new equipment, the inspection of the CCAs has been improved significantly with the capability of inspecting solder joints using equipment with the latest technology from the world leader in AOI systems manufacture.
• The Chip On Board Assembly Area: incorporates the Gold Ball Bonding technology with excellent levels in quality, reliability and efficiency during the wire bonding process.
• ELCAN Málaga self-designed and manufactured equipment to improve the testing and inspecting of Radio Frequency Identification Devices.
• Improvements in Environmental, Health and Safety area as well as general facilities.
