The EXAKT 50 Three Roll Mill is the ideal mill for R&D and Formulation labs. Compact and versatile, the EXAKT 50 takes up less than a square foot on the lab counter. And at 12 Kg., it is easily storable off the bench top when not in use. The standard model is a single speed version with a 1:1.8:3.3 gear ratio. More importantly, it is available with either chrome plated, hardened steel rollers OR with aluminum oxide or porcelain ceramic rollers. The steel rollers are excellent for materials with pigments. The rollers are durable and clean easily. For products that are sensitive to metal contamination, the ceramic rollers are excellent alternatives. Porcelain rollers, softer than the aluminum oxide are well suited to topical pharmaceutical products. The aluminum oxide rollers are by far the most durable of all the roller materials and together with an aluminum oxide or plastic scraper provide a metal free product.

With rollers 50 mm in diameter, the EXAKT 50 easily accommodates very small product quantities. And, for materials made with precious metals or other costly components, the recovery of unprocessed material is much easier than with other types of dispersion equipment.

The de-agglomerating and dispersion characteristics of roll mills versus other types of dispersion equipment insure that 100% of the product is exposed to the shear force created in the gaps. The EXAKT 50's gaps are fixed and parallel with single point adjustment for each gap making adjustment much more consistent than on hydraulic machines. And, if variable speed is required, the mill can be equipped with a variable speed control option at the factory.
