Added visibility without added complexity. The Eaton Energy Management System (EMS) continuously measures current on all breaker levels to enable more effective energy planning and management. The new Eaton EMS Upgrade Kit, coming summer 2008, extends this invaluable layer of visibility and control to power distribution equipment that was never designed for it.

Even if you have a mix of older equipment and elements from other vendors, you can track and analyze:

· Time-stamped metering, alarm, event and statistical information

· Minimum and maximum current, power and frequency—and peak loads

· Power quality metrics, such as total harmonic distortion and power factor

· Load profiling to make the best decisions for energy planning

Information is shown for individual circuits and summarized for each panelboard and at the equipment level. You can view power insights locally on a large display or from anywhere using a Web browser or an existing management system.

Easy to deploy in diverse infrastructures. The Eaton EMS Upgrade Kit is a packaged, pre-tested, pre-calibrated solution. It is designed for upgrade into existing third-party power distribution units, remote power panels, panelboards or other equipment.

The kit includes a wall-mounted enclosure with support for one or two panels and an optional LCD. A single-panel unit monitors up to 42 circuits; a two-panel unit monitors up to 84 circuits in a standard, three-phase panelboard.

The unit comes with a bracket for wall-mounting and can be installed and used without disconnecting loads or removing power to the equipment being monitored. An easy-to-use software tool is included to configure start-up settings and options. No preventive maintenance or annual calibration is required.
