These positioning stages use a piezo driven step motor to achieve sub-micron resolution over long travel ranges. Utilizing a stick-slip design, the stage expands the piezo element fully, pushing the stage along its travel. This unique design allows for high precision of movement, without sacrificing overall travel. Compatible in vacuum applications, these stages are capable of moving up to 2mm per second, with total travel of up to 30mm. #62-280 controller is required for operation. Piezo Stage Controller
The Piezo Motor Controller allows a piezo stage to be directly driven using a USB 2.0 interface to a computer. The typical open loop resolution for one step is 1.5nm, but the real value depends on the stage type, load, preload and other mechanical factors.
