Annealing is a process where heat is applied to a material (steel alloy, copper, aluminum) and then the material is slowly cooled - not quenched. The process is used to remove hardness from a work piece to allow additional operations to be performed.
There are different categories of annealing:
Each of these processes is used for different situations when working with metal, but the basis of the processes is similar.
Annealing, in its many forms, often requires very precise heating and cooling cycles. The PLC Control systems along with the precision electronics contained in Eldec Induction generators, allow the user to consistently run annealing cycles yielding a quality product every time.
