Operates on 400 and 480 volts; no transformer needed Danaher Motion today announced the release of its new digital amplifier for 400 and 480 volt applications. SERVOSTAR 600 EXPANDS Kollmorgen's existing amplifier line and is matched with the Kollmorgen GOLDLINE BH/MH Series servomotor. Typical applications for the system are material handling, packaging and web converting. Features of the SERVOSTAR 600 Included:
- Current ratings of 3, 6 and 10 amp with an integrated power supply
- Accepts 400 and 480 volt three-phase AC input power (eliminating the need and additional cost of a transformer)
- Amplifier uses patented sinewave commutation techniques
- Provide smooth, precise speed control and high-speed operation
- Its DQ current control increases high-speed peak torque for shorter cycle times
- Space vector modulation reduces normal power stage switching losses
- Multi-drop configurations allow a PC or PLC to communicate to the amplifiers through a single RS-232 connection to reduce system wiring and simplify connectivity
SERVOSTAR 600 is customized by configuring its I/O for various functions. SERVOSTAR 600 meets safety requirements for UL and CE and offers built-in line filter and relay. Installation and set-up are performed through a built-in parameter unit or a simple graphical environment called MOTIONLINK. SERVOSTAR 600 performs motion tasks that usually require a programming language through "fill-in-the-blank" motion screens. Motion examples include: incremental move, master/slave and index-to-registration move. Kollmorgen GOLDLINE BH/MH Series servomotors have torque ratings from 0.52 to - 80 lb-ft (0.7 to 108 N-m) and dimensions of 2.76 to 7.5 inches (70.0 to 190 mm.). They are rated 400/480 VAC. Speeds up to 7500 RPM are standard. The motor line is available in 5 frame sizes and 3 stack lengths. The BH Series provides low inertia rotors for applications requiring rapid acceleration and deceleration, and the MH Series provides seven times higher inertia for applications having compliant loads or large inertia mismatches. Kollmorgen GOLDLINE uses a patented interior permanent design technology to achieve high torque to inertia and torque per volume ratios. The SERVOSTAR 600 operates directly on 400 and 480 volt AC power and doesn't require a transformer or other special parts. One of our major considerations during the product design phase was to simplify installation with features such as built-in filters for CE, motor safety relay and I/O that can easily be configured to a customer's needs.
