Adhesives for Everything
Product Announcement from Ellsworth Adhesives
Adhesives are found throughout everyday life. Sometimes it is obvious such as a sealed cereal box or reminding yourself with a Post-It® note. Other times, it is much more subtle, like the adhesives used within the frame of an automobile, making it stronger and more impact resistant or the adhesives used to seal medical devices such as needles, oxygen masks and catheters. Whether it’s noticed every day or barely seen, Ellsworth Adhesives has an adhesive for every application.
Deciding on which adhesive is best can be a difficult task. Below is a list of some of the most commonly used adhesives throughout multiple industries.
Acrylic adhesives are structural adhesives capable of bonding a broad range of substrates including most types of plastics and metals both minimally prepared and unprepared. They have good to excellent flexibility, environmental resistance and fast setting times.
Anaerobic adhesives are one-part adhesives that cure only in the absence of air. They are designed for locking screws, nuts, bolts and/or retaining bearings, shafts, etc...
Cyanoacrylate adhesives are one-part adhesives that cure instantly on contact with mated surfaces. They are high strength and have excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates.
Epoxy adhesives provide high strength bonds on a wide variety of substrates. The bond can often times be stronger than the parts being bonded. Epoxies are very tough with good chemical and environmental resistance.
A thermoplastic material that is melted in dispensing equipment and is applied in a molten state. It then wets the substrate surface and as it cools, it solidifies forming a bond. Hot melts are very fast setting.
Polyurethane adhesives provide superior bonds with minimal surface preparation for today’s high performance thermosets and thermoplastics. They provide excellent flexibility and durability.
Silicones are a one component adhesive/sealant that cures to a tough rubbery solid upon exposure to moisture in the air. Silicone has good resistance to weathering, vibration, moisture and chemicals.
Solvent-based adhesives are a one-part solvent evaporation system with a rubber or plastic base. Good product for laminating or for covering a large surface area economically.
Water-based adhesives can be used in a wide variety of nonstructural bonding applications. Excellent for paper, cardboard, wood, etc...
