Machine safety sensors are also needed in environments which have high durability requirements. Therefore, elobau developed the machine safety sensor 165...VL especially for the packaging industry and it is now a permanent feature in the product range.

The machine safety sensor 165...VL has an extremely robust design, which is complemented by its highly polished stainless steel housing (material type 1.4408). It can be used in temperatures ranging from 25 °C to +80 °C and fulfils the IP 69K protection category according to DIN EN 60529. This enables it to be steam-cleaned. Its cable has UL and FDA approval, making the stainless steel sensor suitable even for the food industry.

The magnet system is available as a standard model and an enhanced model. The enhanced model permits a distance between switches of up to 7 mm and an offset of up to +/- 4 mm. The switching elements are available in the 2-contact maker or contact breaker in 4-wire model contact versions. An additional control contact is optional. The 2-contact maker sensor is also available as a 3 wire version.
