CERAMIC-TO-METAL HIGH POWER FEEDTHROUGHS AND TERMINALS
Ceramic-to-metal seals are ideal for high power applications where hermeticity and durability are critical. High purity ceramic insulators used in our high power feedthroughs and terminals are many times stronger than quartz, glass or epoxies. High purity alumina used in these products provides superior electromechanical, thermal and chemical properties. They do not outgas or breakdown under prolonged exposure to vacuum or elevated temperatures and offer corrosive resistance to alkali's, acids and organic solvents
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Hermeticity-Maximum leak rate is 1 X 10-9cc helium/second
Terminal Strength-Can withstand forces up to 9000 psi without affecting hermeticity
Thermal Characteristics- Have been submersed in liquids maintained at 100ºC, removed and immediately immersed in an alcohol bath at -65ºC with no evidence of seal deterioration or loss of hermiticity
Operating Temperature- Operate from +600ºC to -270ºC
Chemical Stability- More chemically inert than glass or quartz and do not absorb water
Physical and Flexural Strength- At 25ºC compressive strength is 305,000 psi and flexural strength is 51,000 psi
Installation Methods- Suitable for brazing, soldering, resistance welding or high energy beam welding into various structures and electronic packages EnvirOptics
