The self-priming pump type RSKu in thermoplastic materials is a single-stage horizontal chemical centrifugal pump. The pump is self-priming without requiring any auxiliary device. It is used in the chemical and petrochemical industry, in storage facilities for chemicals and in other industrial fields for handling all kinds of acidic or alkaline solutions, solvents and various process fluids.

Description:

Due to its self-priming feature the pump is most suitable for complete emptying of vessels. For start-up the pump casing is partly filled with liquid. The rotating impeller evacuates the suction pipe and produces a gas-liquid mixture. The pump becomes self-priming by shifting the gas-liquid mixture into the separation chamber in front of the impeller. Here the gas separates from the liquid towards the interior and escapes through the pump discharge. The available liquid is returned to the impeller chamber and mixes again with air from the suction pipe. This process continues until the suction pipe is completely primed and normal flow of liquid starts.

Materials:

The RSKu pump is available in the following materials: PP, PE, PVDF and PTFE. Parts in contact with the fluid handled are in solid plastic material which results in increased operating safety. The back-pull-out unit of the pump (entire bearing bracket including impeller, shaft and shaft sealing) is identical with that of the standardized CPDR pump. Shaft sealing is effected by single, double or single stationary mechanical shaft seal, again same as used for the CPDR pump.

Performance Range:

The operating temperature is limited to 160°C (320°F). Maximum flow rate is 55 m3/h (240 gpm), maximum discharge head 40 m (131 ft). Maximum suction lift referring to water at 20°C (68°F) from 2.5 m to 7 m (8.2 ft to 23 ft) depending on operating speed.

All pump sizes are also available in closed coupled design. Mounted on a carriage the pump can be used as mobile unit for tank emptying.
