Plastic vials pre-filled with product held in carriers consisting of multiple arrays are manually loaded onto a conveyor. A 2-axis programmable pick & place removes vials one at a time and loads them into the nests of the main indexing rotary dial. Screw caps are sorted from bulk in a Farason pocketed disc sorter and presented single file to the dial.
A 2-axis pick & place, equipped with a rotary head, pre-starts the cap onto the vial. Grippers below the dial plate grasp and hold the vial securely. At the next station, a servo-driven device applies precise application torque.
Finally, a print and apply label applicator places a label on the vial body and subsequent stations wrap the label around and form a flag on the adjacent side.
Completed vials are removed from the dial where good and bad parts a segregated accordingly.
