IR4000 Combustible Gas Detection System Offers a Highly Scalable and Reliable Plant Wide Solution

The new IR4000 Infrared Combustible Gas Detection System from General Monitors is a highly scalable, reliable plant solution. The IR4000M multi-point monitor can connect up to eight IR400 point infrared (IR) gas detectors and read their status with one command for a complete integrated gas detection system. The IR400 provides fail-to-safe operation, event logging and requires very little maintenance. Our new IR4000 Brochure explains the system in detail.

The IR4000 Combustible Gas Detection System consists of the IR4000M Multi-Point Monitor, the IR4000S Single-Point Monitor, and the IR400 Point IR Gas Detector. This modular system allows you to mix and match components to support virtually any gas monitoring requirement. The IR4000M and IR400, for example, provide an 8-point system with voting capabilities that supports large applications. The IR400 and the IR4000S also provide gas monitoring with a local display for single-point detection applications. By itself, the IR400 can connect directly to our DC110/DC130 readout/relay modules, TA102A trip amplifier, PLC or DCS.

The advanced IR400 provides fail-to-safe operation, event logging and requires minimal maintenance. It features heated optics to eliminate condensation and includes a dirty optics indicator for fail-to-safe operation. The IR400 continuously monitors combustible gases in the lower explosive limit (LEL) range. Configurations with 4-20 mA analog output, Modbus and HART are available. Additionally, the detector requires no routine calibration, a feature that reduces demand for field technician time.

The versatile IR4000 System is suitable for a wide range of hazardous industry processes and plant applications: LNG/LPG processing and storage, electric power generation plants, oil/gas production platforms, petrochemical refining, pipeline compressor stations, aerospace facilities, and wastewater treatment. The IR4000 comes with the following industry approvals: FM, CSA, ATEX, CE Marking and IECEx. It is also suitable for use in SIL 2 environments.
