C-hooks, or coil hooks are specialized material handling devices tailored to lift large steel coils. Givens Engineering will custom design and fabricate c-hooks in virtually any capacity, from a few hundred pounds up to 100,000 lbs.
The example shown in the photo to the right is a close-stacking, 20,000 lbs capacity c-hook for steel and aluminum coils. This particular coil hook features a replaceable hardened alloy pin at the hoist attachment. This hardened pin is a robust attachment option that will prolong the working life of the lifting device and allows for effortless attachment to the crane hook.
The shape of each hook can be customized to your specific requirements, for instance:
Our coil hooks are typically made made from either mild steel (for economy), or alloy steel (for lighter weight).
All of our coil hooks are designed and manufactured in accordance with ASME B30.20. Each hook includes engineering certification drawings, a load test and a weld inspection.
Givens Engineering designs and manufactures lifting equipment and automated material-handling machines. We also provide machine design services, lifting device certification, custom fabrication and machine guarding consultation. Our lifting devices and end effectors are custom engineered for each application.
In addition to custom lifting devices, Givens Engineering has a full line of ergo arm manipulators, pneumatic grippers, mounted bearings, and torque arms built from standard parts that we stock.
