Glenro designs and manufactures conveyorized machines that dip coat printed circuit boards in protective conformal coatings and then dry the coatings in one continuous process. The systems also coat and dry liquid photo resists on metal flats for printed circuit board and chemical milling applications. A standard line of bench model and continuous processing equipment, such as the Model 4124 illustrated, is available, as well as specialized machine designs that include more complex material handling techniques and alternative drying and curing heat transfer technologies.

The machines offer high quality coating and drying. Dip coating allows conformal coating to get under the components, not just on top, for high quality encapsulation. In liquid resist applications you get good adhesion to most substrates which facilitates fine line etching. It takes only one person to operate the machines.

Your product is coated uniformly. Coating both sides of the product at the same time increases line speed and eliminates the need for complicated material handling systems to rotate the product. The heat for drying is applied uniformly and in a controlled way to prevent damage from overheating. The systems maintain excellent control of both conveyor speed and dryer temperature to meet the demands each customer's application. Coating thickness can be adjusted to as thin as one mil by adjusting the withdrawal rate and the viscosity of the coating. The machines include a stainless steel dip tank with a recirculation and filtration system that maintains the quality of the conformal coating by keeping dust and other foreign materials out.

Model 4124 is a vertical conveyorized dip coat and infrared dryer system that measures 47 inches wide by 100 inches high by 28 inches deep, 48 inches with exhaust ducting. The machine operates at 2 to 20 inches per minute and is capable of handling a board up to 20 inches wide and 10 inches in the dip direction.

Model 4124 includes a dip tank, with a capacity of 13 gallons and an overflow reservoir capacity of 4.5 gallons, with liquid level control. Also included is a recirculation and filtration system, the infrared drying section and temperature controls, and a conveyor and drive system. The dip coater system is supplied with pressurized, filtered air to maintain clean manufacturing conditions. The exhaust system is designed to remove heated vapors and air as well as heavier-than-air solvent vapors.
