You can laminate and add value to a wide variety of materials in a small space with Glenro's flatbed laminating machines and complete laminating lines.
Flatbed laminating uses dry adhesives to combine two or more layers of substrate materials. Substrates and adhesives are combined in a heated, pressurized section that binds the materials together in a controlled environment. If required, the laminate can then pass through an optional cooling zone to reduce the product temperature prior to winding or stacking.
Pressure, Time, and Temperature
Flatbed laminating is so successful because of the way heat and pressure are applied to the materials, and the length of dwell time the materials spend in the process. Conventional laminating only exposes the materials to pressure for the brief period they pass through the nip roller assembly.
By contrast, Glenro flatbed laminating machines place the materials under precisely controlled heat and pressure for a longer dwell time. A continuous plane of heat from the top and bottom with adjustable pressure produces finished materials with complete adhesive coverage (no air gaps) for a strong bond, and also eliminates wrinkling.
Other Features, Benefits and Applications of Flatbed Laminating Machines
· Zoned temperature control across the width of the product produces a uniform bond.
· Applications include automotive, medical, FR materials, intimate apparel, upholstery, aerospace, footwear, floor coverings, filtration, building materials, safety clothing, office dividers, etc.
· Use on all kinds of laminates: fabric, foam, film, nonwovens, composites, wood, etc.
· Use with all types of clean, easy to work with, dry adhesives: web, powder and film.
· Use for two or more layers of material.
· Continuous roll-to-roll and sheet laminating.
· Environmentally clean replacement for flame lamination.
