Toolholders for Ceramic Inserts

Toolholders for Ceramic Inserts

Toolholders for Ceramic Inserts

The Greenleaf 'C' series advanced toolholder system is specially engineered to provide maximum productivity and tool life when machining heat-resist alloys with Greenleaf advanced ceramic grades. Insert pocket geometry for negative style tools is at 10° negative side rake rather than 5°, common to tools designed for carbide inserts. The additional 10° side rake increases flank clearance and, in turn, tool life. Additional pocket depth allows for 5/16" (ISO 07) thick ceramic inserts, commonly used for rough and interrupted cutting. Optional shims are available to allow the use of 3/16" (ISO 04) and 1/8" (ISO 03) thick inserts.

The Greenleaf 'H' series advanced toolholder system is specially engineered for the machining of hardened materials (45 to 65 R/c) with Greenleaf advanced ceramic grades. Greenleaf 'H' series toolholders offer the same features as the 'C' series toolholders except insert pocket geometry for negative style tools is at 5° negative side rake, optimal for the turning of hardened materials.

Greenleaf 'C' and 'H' series advanced toolholder systems are assembled for use with solid inserts. An optional lock pin and short series clamp is available to allow the use of inserts with a hole.
