Star Micronics introduces a new high SPL speaker to its diversified and continually growing line-up of dynamic micro speakers. The SCG-16A speaker is designed for mobile communications and hand-held devices of different designs and sizes, and is produced lead-free. The SCG-16A has 3mm thickness, a flat response curve at high sound pressure levels with wide band width. These audio characteristics mean ring tones on mobile communications and hand-held devices will be heard with deeper and richer tones. Besides playing back a ring tone when the mobile communications and hand-held devices receives a call, the superb playback performance of this speaker can be used for listening to demo music downloaded to mobile phones and other device terminals and for many other new applications.

The SCG-16A, a 16 mm diameter speaker is also available with a gasket to provide assistance in mounting and to achieve maximum enhanced sound quality.

The SCG-16A speakers are on sale now. Sales are expected to exceed 3 million units in the year 2004. Features: Flat response, high sound pressure output of 92.5 dB or more with wider bandwidth
