The MPU-A Hall-Effect Sensor Series provides speed sensing in closed-loop motor applications that are less than ideal for other sensor products. It provides its sensing capabilities through the use of an integrated Hall-Effect sensor in conjunction with a permanent magnet which supplies a bias field. Thjis ready-to-use pick-up directly senses rotating ferrous gear and other similar products gear-type products.

The MPU-A is capable of sensing various target tooth sizes over a wide range of airgaps. The operational airgap acheived is independent of rotation speed. The small module size makes it ideal in applications where space considerations are of concern. The rugged design allows the operation of these sensor assemblies in hostile environments where dirt and oil are major problems.

The MPU-A Series pick-up can be used in place of the a PU-E, OPU or CF Series sensor to onitor motr speeds when access to the motor shaft or restaints limit their use.
