The new L10711 microfocus X-ray source (MFX) from Hamamatsu delivers the high resolution (0.25 µm minimum) and stability required for X-ray nondestructive inspection, 3D imaging, and computed tomography (CT).
One advantageous feature of the L10711 is stable operation, which especially benefits customers performing X-ray CT scans. The built-in power supply and the improved cathode materials and design produce a stable X-ray focus spot size and stable output. The cathode design also makes the cathode easy to replace.
Another advantageous feature of the L10711 is its built-in high voltage power supply. Most open type X-ray sources must be connected to a separate power supply unit, which can cause problems such as additional noise and damage from discharges. Having a built-in power supply eliminates those problems and the need for periodic maintenance.
You can choose from two types of cathodes to suit your need for high resolution or for high intensity. Under high resolution mode, the L10711 produces a minimum resolution of 0.25 µm and a tube voltage range of 20-100 kV. Under high intensity mode (8 W), it produces a minimum resolution of 0.8 µm and a tube voltage range of 20-160 kV.
