Avantes is pleased to announce the addition of a new detector option for our successful Ultra-Low Stray light (ULS) spectrometer product family. With the addition of the Hamamatsu 1024 CMOS detector, the ULS family now offers superior signal to noise performance (2000:1) in addition to industry leading stray light performance. The new ULS optical bench features dual internal modestrippers and multiple CPC's (Compound Parabolic Concentrators) to reduce stray light levels to as low as 0.04%. This equates to a stray light improvement of a factor of 2.5 over competitive instruments. Along with the straylight improvement the new optical bench design features a much higher rigidity resulting in a factor of 20 decrease in strain sensitivity caused by microbending.

The new optical bench (Avabench-75-1024ULS-U2) is integrated into the new AvaSpec-1024ULS-USB2, and both are available in a variety of slit and grating configurations covering the range from 200-1100nm and featuring a 1024 pixel CMOS detector array for high signal to noise applications.

The low straylight performance of the Avabench-75-ULS1024-U2 and AvaSpec-1024ULS-USB2 is extremely useful in applications where high absorbance parameters need to be measured, such as those associated with high chemical concentrations, high optical density optics or long optical pathlengths. The new optical bench and spectrometer are available for OEM integration in other systems as well as for purchase as individual instruments.
