S. Himmelstein and Company introduced the new MCRT® 49000V Series dc operated, non-contact torque meters. These robust torque sensors measure machinery torque with fast response and 0.1% accuracy, traceable to NIST. They interface directly to PC and PLC Controllers and Data Acquisition Systems and are very easy to use.
New technology makes the MCRT® 49000V insensitive to severe electromagnetic interference (EMI) from IGBT-based adjustable speed drives. Its ferrite-free signal transformer is immune to vibration, hydraulic fluids and harsh environments. Powered by an unregulated dc supply - between 10.5 and 24 Volts - they don't need complex cabling, external signal conditioning or calibration circuits; all are standard features.
Thirty-four models, from 25 to 2,000,000 lb-in (2.82 to 226,000 n-m), have a 400 percent overload capacity. They feature bi-directional operation from stall to maximum speed, dual ±5 volt outputs with signal filtering (dc to 1 Hz and dc to 500 Hz), and remote calibration. Stainless steel shafts, splash proofing and permanent lubrication enhance performance and provide long, maintenance-free life. Both shaft and flanged types are offered.
Applications include measurement and control of engines, motors, pumps, generators, compressors, gearboxes and fans. MCRT® 49000V's are used in mixers, blowers, drill rigs, marine and vehicular drives, and for viscosity control and monitoring. They can verify and control machinery operation, efficiency and load sharing. They can also detect process or machine degradation, and find wasteful or unsafe conditions.
