Product Announcement from Hitachi America, Ltd., Industrial Components and Equipment Division
For many years, Hitachi has focused on what is termed "Ultimate Air Quality" the achievement of Oil-Free air, with a focus towards "Contaminant Free" air. "Merely having a compressor design that is devoid of oil from the compression stream is not enough. Our focus on the downstream air quality and possible contaminants serves to protect our customer's most valued production processes," noted Nitin G. Shanbhag, senior manager of the Hitachi Air Technology Group.
Continuing our focus to Ultimate Air Quality, Hitachi embarked upon a certification of ISO 8573-1:2001 Class 0 for the Hitachi DSP Series Oil Free Rotary Screw Compressor (15-240kW). To validate our findings for consumer knowledge, third party laboratory testing was contracted with a positive result to standards, which enables Hitachi to provide a variety of Innovative, Technologically Superior, and Value Oriented Product for our Customers.
The many design features of the DSP Series that contribute to this "Contaminant Free" Design include, but are not limited to:
- Patented Rotor Profile from Stainless Steel Rotors for Compression
- Exclusive development and usage of HX-18 PTFE Free Rotor Coatings to eliminate performance degradation and contribute to "Ultimate Air Quality"
- Patented Oil Mist Remover (OMR) to recapture gearcase mists and eliminate possibility for inlet contamination.
- Exclusive usage of Motorized Isolation Valve (MIV) on discharge to prevent re-entrainment of moisture and other contaminants into the compressor package.
Hitachi's DSP Series Oil-Free Screw Air Compressors are part of the Air Technology Group, which is based in Charlotte, NC. The Charlotte facility is the center for all Air Technology Group business operations, warehousing, and training for Distribution Partners and OEMs.
