IMR Test Labs has performed thousands of metallurgical examinations on thermal spray coatings, plasma spray coatings and diffusion coatings. While the majority of our customers are from the aerospace industry, a significant number of customers now come from other industries such as automotive, biomedical, and fuel cell.

Thermal spray and diffusion coatings present unique sample preparation and evaluation issues. For that reason, IMR has developed a comprehensive training pogram titled "Aerospace Metallography and Coating Evaluation". This program, developed jointly with and endorsed by Pratt & Whitney, is offered at IMR throughout the year.
