April 22, 2009 – Iowa Laser Technology, Inc. is excited to announce the installation of a new laser processing machine from Trumpf Equipment– the TruLaser Tube 5000. The new tube laser offers substantial increases in shuttle and processing speed, and completes Iowa Laser's most recent expansion initiatives.

TruLaser Tube 5000

The new tube laser offers 3200W of power, processing up to 6" round or square DOM/welded tubing to 20' in length. Maximum wall thickness is 3/8" and weight per foot is 13.2#. Along with decreasing set-up times and increasing intermittent travel speeds to 3937 in/min, the new tube-cutting equipment allows greater accuracy (+/-.008) and repeatability (+/-.002).

While Iowa Laser's existing machines allow processing from 1" to 14" O.D. in raw tubing, the new machine increases speed and accuracy on the highest volume tube requirements. In addition, the fluctuating equipment market allowed greater positioning. "Taking advantage of market conditions is one of the benefits we offer our customers," says company President Sean Abbas.
