Design Fundamentals
Here are some considerations to take into account when designing your product.

• Operating Environment - Will the product be exposed to high and/or low temperatures? Will the product be subject to corrosion?
• Life Expectancy - How many cycles is the spring expected to perform? What is the cycle frequency?
• Spring Load - Is there a required load and what range of deflection must be maintained?
• Space - Is there adequate space to allow the spring to function properly? Pin or hole size.
• Tolerances - Tolerances for machined dimensions do not apply to spring or wire/strip form manufacturing. We follow the tolerance guidelines of the Spring Manufacturers Institute (SMI). Tolerances for stampings can be closely held.
• Burrs & Sharp Edges - Burrs can be minimized during the manufacturing process. Sharp edges are a result of the cutting operation. Removal of burrs and sharp edges can add cost.
• Finishes - The proper selection can improve life expectancy and overall performance. The overall cost will be effected depending on the finish.
• Quality Control Reports - We can furnish QC reports such as CpK/XR charts; PPAP runs can be quoted as an extra.
