KEO Cutters expands its line of countersinks with single-flute, three-flute and six-flute carbide versions. All of these tools are made from premium micro-grain substrates with excellent chipping resistance. All of these tools are CNC ground for greater precision. For economy, the solid carbide heads are induction brazed on hardened steel shafts. Carbide countersinks can generally be used at higher speeds and feeds thantraditional HSS and CO tools. Offering includes TiALN coated tools to improve the life over a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Single-Flute Carbide Countersinks
Single-flute tools are generally the most vibration resistant and thepreferred tools when centering is desired. These tools are also recommended for non metals (plastics and wood) as well as non-ferrous applications. KEO Cutters reminds the user that in order to enjoy the best results for a hole that you are chamfering, deburring or piloting, you need to have an existing hole that is no smaller than 10% of the diameter of the countersink.
Three-Flute Carbide Countersinks
For the carbide family of these tools, the three-flute represents the ideal "general purpose" countersink. They have enough chip clearance in the three-flute design for a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, while providing enough strength with the radial relief design to attack hardened materials up to 40Rc.
Six-Flute Carbide Countersinks
The multi-flute design permits the user to apply this tool in the toughest materials. The machine resistant substrates of nickel based alloys (like Inconel, Waspaloy, Hastaloy and Monel) can be tackled with the six-flute design that permits lower metal removal rates per cutting edge. Order the TiALN and one can use this design in applications up to 60Rc.
