Kee Industrial Products offers an alternative to traditional welded handrail systems using Kee Lite aluminum or Kee Klamp galvanized steel safety components. These along with 1 1/2-in. (3.8-cm) IPS pipe are corrosion resistant and conform to USCG Refs: 33 CFR 143.110-120 and 46 CFR 108.217-233 for offshore platforms.

The railing systems are designed to reduce the difficulty of installing and repairing platform handrail systems and other safety barriers while maintaining regulatory compliance. Construction requires only simple hand tools for installation, delivering time and labor savings as compared to traditional welded railings.
"No hot work permit is required for installation, therefore production does not have to shut down in order to make repairs," says Andrew Kirk, national sales manager for Kee Industrial Products.

Galvanized for corrosion resistance, Kee Klamp heavy-duty steel components have been used in the industry for decades to build handrails, stair rails, and other safety railings, according to Kee Industrial. Making a greater impact in the market, though, is the company's recently introduced Kee Lite aluminum safety components, the company says.

Constructed of high-grade aluminum/silicon/magnesium alloy, Kee Lite components are also corrosion resistant for harsh environments. They are much lighter in weight (reducing topside load), easier to handle, and less costly to transport.

In addition to conforming to USCG Refs, Kee's railing systems are independently tested to meet OSHA Standard Pipe Railing 1910.23 and comply with the Standard Building Code, BOCA National Building.
