The RoLine™ laser sensor is specifically engineered to measure or profile pavement topography in 3D, regardless of geometry. The sensor's finer accuracy with high-resolution line laser technology contributes to it fulfilling demanding, regulatory repeatability levels, despite varied surface textures.
A respected provider of triangulation sensor technology for over 25 years, Selcom® is a leading brand of LMI Technologies, Inc. with over 4,500 sensors currently measuring roads.
During a pre-launch prior to the RPUG conference, the RoLine™ participated in the American Concrete Paving Association's (ACPA) Profiler Repeatability Tests.
Profiler devices equipped with the RoLine™ functioned at 'good' levels in one section and exceeded specifications with 'excellent' performance in the other three test sections.
"We are very pleased the RoLine™ sensor had the opportunity to be put to task by an independent and highly respected association such as the ACPA and its members, states Dan Howe, North American Transportation Market Manager for LMI Technologies, Inc.
Product Described
Consistent with Selcom™ brand performance, the RoLine™ sensors are not affected by road surface characteristics, measurement speed, sunlight, temperature or vibration.
A RoLine™ sensor for surface profiling offers a significant advantage in some applications over single point or multi-point methods. With the Roline™ line sensor, a 100 mm line of data across the road surface (similar to a tire width) allows seeing more of the road. The RoLine™ then delivers what it sees as accurate, repeatable 3D profiles. Performance on pavement types including transverse, longitudinally tined, grooved and diamond ground concrete has been field tested at the good to excellent range. RoLine™ sensors also have the ability to maintain quality on the fly when transitioning from concrete to asphalt.
Selcom® is part of LMI Technologies, Inc. a world leader in 3D Vision Sensor technology. LMI engineers optical sensors for improved quality and productivity in multiple industrial applications and continues to add to its portfolio of over 100 vision application patents. OEM inquiries for specialized applications are always welcome.
