Carlap Precision Double-Sided Planetary Lapping and Polishing Machines

2000 Series Machines The small 2000 series machines are designed to Lap and Polish components on a 5 carrier format (40mm max component size). The components are placed in an offset position in the carrier to ensure full coverage of the lapping plate. The machine structure comprises a rigid welded steel frame which carries the main drive components and the drive motors.

The machine has 2 drive systems, each independently controlled. Outer gear drive - .95A DC drive motor, Speed 0-130rpm. Inner gear drive - .95A DC drive motor, Speed 0-130rpm. Each Drive System is mounted in fully sealed ball race bearings to allow the smooth running of the lap plates. The motor drives are controlled by inserters and the machine runs off a 240V supply

5000/8000/12000 Series Machines The mid range series of machine is designed to Lap & Polish components on a 3/4/8 carrier format respectively (114/180/310mm max component size respectively). Once the components are in place on the machine, the top place can be lowered to make minimal contact with the components. The operator can then start the machine. Once the operator is satisfied that the components are running in the carriers correctly, he can gradually apply pressure through the pressure control gauge from 0 to 100%. Each Drive System is mounted in fully sealed taper roller bearings to allow the smooth running of the lap plates.

24000 Series Machines THE largest 2400 Carlap line of dual face lapping/polishing machines is based upon a 3 way planetary concept designed to yield precise and repeatable result at an economical price.

Excellent results have been obtained in the processing of a wide range of materials and components including glass, ceramics, crystals and ferrous materials. The 3 way drive concept has the top and bottom plates and sun gear running with independent drives with variable speeds and fully reversible operation.
