Larox has now introduced a complete range of Polypropylene filter plates and plate packs for all sizes of the the Larox C Series vertical tower presses. This new range will complement the existing range of stainless steel plates offering a wider range of chemical compatibility.

The Larox PP plates have been developed using the considerable experience gained within the Larox group from supplying Hoesch membrane plates for almost 50 years for both vertical and horizontal filter presses. It therefore brings together the Larox C Series, the market leading automatic filter press with the superior capabilities of the Hoesch filter plates.

The PP plate has already been delivered and proven for the 1.6m2 plate area (C1.6 Series). Larox now has available and is testing and proving the 2.5m2 (C15 Series) and 6m2 plates (C48 Series) in Polypropylene (PP). Adding PP to the existing options of AISI 304L, AISI 316L, ASTM N0894 and EN 1.4462 means that Larox will now provide the most comprehensive range of process contact materials available in automatic pressure filtration today.

The PP plates offer a wider range of chemical compatibility than the current options, especially for corrosive applications where PP is well proven. They also offer the advantage of being lighter in weight than the metal plates, thus reducing the total weight of the installation. The new plates also offer greater resilience to stresses occasionally encountered in pressure filtration. Combined with the existing material options, Larox will have the capability to handle almost all process conditions up to 90°C.

The new plates are capable of being retrofitted into existing Larox C series installations where the process may have changed, thus making the use of PP more appropriate.
