Model TLS 4-20 mA Loop Splitter / Retransmitter splits one 4-20 mA input loop into three independently scalable 4-20 mA output loops. Device removal or failure of any output loop will not affect the other loops. The unit mounts on a DIN rail and is available for 120 or 230 Vac power. It can power a 2-wire transmitter at 20 Vdc and drive loads up to 600 ohms at 20 mA. In many industrial systems, the same 4-20mA signal from a transmitter is sent to multiple devices in series, such as panel meters, chart recorders and PLCs. A problem occurs when any device in the loop is removed, fails, or suffers a wiring fault, as all other devices will then also lose their 4-20mA signal. Model TLS Loop Splitter / Retransmitter solves the problem by generating three independent 4-20 mA outputs from one 4-20 mA input. This allows three separate groups of devices to be fed from one signal, and if any of the groups suffers a failure, the other groups will remain intact. Each output loop has its own zero and span controls to allow individual scaling. A 20 Vdc excitation output is provided to power a 2-wire transmitter device, such as a pressure transmitter. Multiple devices may be connected in series in each output loop, provided that the total resistance per loop is less than 600 ohms. All signals share the same signal ground, which is isolated from power and external ground. The price is $255. For more information, visit www.laurels.com/tls.htm
