Performance:
Performance tests are useful to assess friction behavior, brake output, or stopping distance characteristics under varying speed, pressure, vehicle loading, brake system conditions, deceleration, temperature, braking history, and environmental conditions. Several protocols are available as part of original equipment or aftermarket programs.
- AAR and others: Rail and subway standards related, but not limited to, performance characteristics such as emergency braking, stopping distance, effectiveness, and grade descent.
- Client Directed or Developmental Procedures: Performance characterization protocols developed and executed in cooperation with clients to address specific testing needs. LINK can follow either an existing documented test protocol or design or develop a test plan to meet customer test objectives.
