Link offers a full line of facilities and engineering services to perform vehicle and component NVH evaluation at the Application Research Center (ARC) in Canton, Michigan. Included in the facility is a full Sound Transmission Loss Test Suite, a fully anechoic room, six vehicle preparation bays with three lifts, two Model 3900 Brake NVH dynamometers, and a Model 4900 four-wheel chassis dynamometer. Through our cooperative agreement with Brüel & Kjær we are able to offer a wide array of NVH measurement tools and analysis software from microphone arrays to 200 channels of analysis. Our experienced staff of engineers and technicians can provide a full set of service from test program design, to instrumentation, to data analysis, and reporting for projects.
The centerpiece of this facility is the four-roll chassis dynamometer. This dynamometer provides an excellent platform for a wide array of tests from brake noise to powertrain interior noise evaluations. Common tests have included powertrain performance, windshield noise isolation, speech articulation studies, wind noise studies, road noise evaluation, sound transfer path analysis, data collection for vehicle interior noise simulation studies, and brake squeal programs. Some of the more innovative tests have included rain drop noise measurements and studies of HVAC noise and performance under extreme conditions.
We are happy to discuss potential programs and are comfortable in working in a range of roles to assist you. We can develop a complete evaluation program and even prepare demonstrations of the results achieved if desired. If the customer wishes, we can simply conduct the test and provide raw data for analysis. Our objective is to provide the services needed to quickly resolve the noise or vibration issue and provide the information needed in an effective way.
