The new SP03-6 combines a TVS diode with a diode rectifier bridge to provide both longitudinal and differential protection in a single package. This innovation results in a capacitive loading characteristic that is log-linear with respect to the signal voltage across the device, delivering reduced intermodulation distortion for high-speed data lines as compared to typical solutions.

Packaged in a SO-8 surface mount package, the SP03-6 is ideal for high-speed applications such as 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet, T3/E3 DS3 interfaces, ADSL2+, and VDSL2+.

The SP03-6 has a reverse standoff voltage of 6V, and clamps surges to 15V under 50A surge current conditions (20V at 100A surge). Its peak surge rating is 150A or 2800W (8/20µs waveform). A low clamping voltage for both common mode and differential surge conditions means there is less stress on the protected equipment, and more robust equipment equates to longer life. Input capacitance at 1MHz is typically 16pF (25pF max.), resulting in low attenuation and better line balance for high-speed data. The SP03-6 meets the requirements of the following standards:
