We do everything except make our own steel! We draw our own wire from rod, strand our own component strands, close our own cable and wire rope, extrude plastic jackets over our cable and wire rope, manufacture our own fittings and hardware at our Cableware division, and put all the parts together for your specific needs in your custom designed assembly. Our plant has the finest wire drawing, annealing, stranding and cable closing equipment in the world, allowing us to produce hi-carbon steel, stainless alloy wire and cable products.

Construction Multiple wire strands, cables and wire ropes are actually machines. Each component wire and strand physically adjusts to contribute to the cable or wire rope's load bearing capacity. Generally the more wires in a strand, cable or wire rope the more flexible it behaves. A typical Loos and Co. product is 7x19 cable. In this cable there are seven strands of nineteen wire each, (7x19=133). There are 133 wires working together as a machine in this particular construction. Each application has a construction best suited for it.

Design Fundamentals Loos & Co. manufactures all constructions of strand, cable and wire rope up to 1.25" in diameter with breaking strengths of less than 10 pounds to over 100,000 pounds. We make sure you've got the right strand, cable or wire rope for your requirements.
