RCMSi Technology - Calibration Capability via the internet

All PFXi instruments include Lovibond^®'s new RCMSi technology (Remote Calibration & Maintenance Service via internet). This unique feature allows a calibrated measurement to be taken using a series of ISO 17025 certified liquid standards. The spectral response is transmitted to The Tintometer Ltd's secure calibration server in the United Kingdom. On completion of the procedure, a traceable calibration certificate is e-mailed to the user. The RCMSi system not only gives the user added confidence that the instrument is working within tight ISO standards but also reduces the need for expensive on-site servicing and preventative maintenance of the unit.

Colour Scale Upgrades

Colour scale upgrades provide the flexibility to meet individual requirements for additional colour scales. The following colour scales may be added to any standard PFX195 version, either at the time of purchase or remotely at a later date. Windows^® Software for Data Capture on PC

Each PFXi-195 version is supplied with Windows^® software that allows data sets to be automatically downloaded to a PC computer where they can be processed or stored. It also permits remote control of the instrument.

Common accessories

Holder for standard spectrophotometer cells (12.5 mm width) For customers wishing to use the PFXi-195 with standard, semi-micro or micro spectrophotometer cells, an optional cell holder is available to ensure that the cell remains parallel to the light beam and does not move. Micro or semi-micro cells can be used provided they have black walls and base to ensure that no stray light influences the measurement. The cell holder is designed to maintain these cells in the correct position so that the light beam passes unhindered through the measuring chamber.

Adapter for 10.65 mm tubes

Allows the Lovibond^® PFXi-195 to accept samples in 10.65 mm diameter tubes (for use with colour scales based on a 10 mm path length eg. Gardner).

Adapter for 33 mm tubes

Allows the Lovibond^® PFXi-195 to measure ASTM Color (ASTM D1500) of samples in 33 mm diameter tubes.

Dark Sample Cell for CIE Values

It is possible to use the PFXi-195 transmittance colorimeter for measuring a saturated sample provided it is able to transmit light when viewed in a short path length cell. The dark sample cell has a path length of 1mm (using a 10mm cell with a 9mm glass spacer). A suggested procedure for measuring saturated samples is to zero the instrument with nothing in it (giving a L*a*b* reading of 100, 0, 0) and storing this 'white point' as a reference; production samples would then be measured to obtain a Delta E reading from this white point. The other possibility is to apply a standard dilution to the sample and measure it in a longer path length cell.
