The Mach III NEMA Frame C-Face Mount Combination Clutch-Brake delivers both clutching and braking functions with a single air signal in four sizes for 56C to 215TC NEMA motor frames. The units are designed to mount simply and quickly between a standard motor and gearbox but are also suitable for belt or chain drive applications.
The NEMA C-Face Mount Clutch-Brake is operated by applying air pressure to release the spring applied friction brake and to engage the friction clutch. The brake will engage when the air pressure is exhausted from the clutch. The brake torque is fixed by spring pressure. Clutch torque is linear in response to air pressure applied. Torque values for the 56C to 145TC sized units are: 495 lb.in. clutch torque and 197 lb.in. brake torque. Torque values for the 182TC to 215TC sized units are: 1032 lb.in. clutch torque and 395 lb.in. brake torque.
Each Mach III NEMA C-Face Mount Clutch-Brake is completely enclosed. Housing options include aluminum, clear anodized aluminum and stainless steel. The NEMA C-Face Mount Clutch-Brake is appropriate for stop/start, cycling and indexing applications. This product group can be used in packaging machinery, food processing machinery, material handling and automation equipment and other machinery applications where both driving and holding are required.
Mach III Clutch, Inc., for over 60 years, has designed and manufactured a wide array of standard and custom designed clutches, brakes, and torque limiters. The Company is headquartered in Walton, Kentucky in the Northern Kentucky-Greater Cincinnati area.
