Macro Sensors can design and produce custom LVDTs or modified versions of many standard LVDTs to work in special applications or to solve unusual problems. They have a library of over 500 custom designed products and are continuously adding to it.

Thus, Macro Sensors can offer products that will operate in extreme environments such as high ambient or operating temperatures, typically up to 525 °F or more, mild nuclear radiation (manufactured without teflon based materials), submersion in water or other liquids, and hazardous or explosive locations. Other physical variations they can make include units with custom ranges and shorter overall lengths, units with special flanges or mounting feet, units having larger than usual core-to-bore clearance, units, either pressure sealed or vented, for operation in pressurized fluids, extra heavy duty units for mill environments, and units constructed of materials resistant to corrosion from sea water or harsh chemicals.
