A new low volume disposable polystyrene cuvette for the Malvern® Zetasizer Nano S and ZS particle characterization systems enables the size measurement of as little as 40 microlitres of sample. This is less than half the volume possible with previous disposable cuvettes and is thought to be the lowest volume disposable cuvette available for any dynamic light scattering system. Such low volume capabilities are especially important when analyzing biological materials where it is often necessary to use the smallest amount of material possible. The use of disposable systems offers both convenience and freedom from any risks of cross-contamination.

The new Zetasizer Nano series can perform a combination of three of the most important parameters for the colloid and polymer chemist, particle size analysis, zeta potential measurement, and molecular weight measurement. The new technology incorporated in these systems provides unequalled sensitivity and versatility. The patented NIBS optics incorporated into the Nano Z and Nano ZS also allows measurements of samples with little or no dilution.

  • Particle size analysis - NIBS technology enables measurements of particles and molecules from 0.6nm to 6 microns.
  • Zeta potential - M3-PALS technology enables accurate measurements of zeta potential in aqueous and non-aqueous dispersions.
  • Molecular weight - An avalanche-photodiode detector and fibre detection optics give the sensitivity and stability required for absolute molecular weight measurement.

The Zetasizer Nano ZS is the pinnacle of the Malvern Zetasizer Nano series and can measure all three parameters with no performance compromises.

The Nano ZS, Z and ZS90 can all use the unique disposable zeta potential cell to ensure no cross contamination of samples.

All systems are compatible with the MPT-2 autotitrator to enable trend measurements and sample preparation to be automated..
