Cost Reducing Corrosion Resistant Steel Tubing

Cost Reducing Corrosion Resistant Steel Tubing

Reduce your stainless steel, copper, and poly vinyl/nylon coated tubing costs by as much as 50% (sometimes more) without loss of functionality with Markin's premier line of Galfan coated tubing. In addition, to reduce lead time and costs in supply chain, Markin provides value-added services to complement your in-house process.

Applied in-line to the outside diameter of Markin's high quality welded low carbon steel tubing, Galfan coating consists of 95% Zinc and 5% Aluminum. In addition, an Aluminum rich epoxy topcoat (available in gray or black) is applied on top of the Galfan layer for added protection. This combination results in consistent 3,000 hours salt spray protection, making Markin's Galfan one of the most successful corrosion resistant tubing options in the automotive, appliance, and hydraulic markets.

With Markin's Galfan coating solution, automotive suppliers have substituted higher cost tubing for use in applications such as fuel rail, oil cooler, power steering, and air conditioning lines, along with various mechanical applications. In addition, appliance companies are eliminating the high cost of copper where possible, while fabricators supplying the hydraulic market can eliminate expensive secondary plating processes. These are just some of the many ways Galfan can reduce your costs, while continuing or improving the integrity of your product.

Markin's Galfan eliminates the need for the increasingly expensive tubing made out of:

  • Aluminum
  • Copper
  • Stainless Steel

Markin's Galfan is also a cost effective alternative for corrosion resistant coatings such as:

  • PVF
  • PVDF
  • Nylon.

Markin offers Nickel coating in order to protect the inside of the tube for potentially corrosive fluids such as E85.

Markin's Galfan works great for many applications where corrosion resistance is a factor; we're finding new applications every day!

Contact Markin's team solutions@markin.com or call us at (585) 495-6211 to discover how Galfan can add value to your application.
