The linear position sensor LPS-NT 50/100 has been designed especially for use in the rough environment of production machinery. The sensor, which works according to the principle of induction, is influenced locally without contact by an approximated vernier. Depending on the linear position of the vernier, there is always an analog or a binary signal available at the LPS-NT output. The "position determining" vernier can also be implemented in form of a rotationally symmetrical vernier (ring shape) with different diameters in order to detect the axial position of rotating cylinders or shafts. The functioning of the LPS-NT is not dependent on the rotational speed of the vernier (ring shape), i.e. it works even when the latter is stationary. Surrounding magnetizable materials does not have any influence to the sensor.
