Having an even higher tungsten content than our Chatter Free material, Super Chatter Free (also marketed under the name Diemitech) is used extensively as an alternative to tungsten carbide for boring bars and grinding quills. Diemitech is also an excellent choice for high-temperature tooling applications.

The high-tungsten content of Mi-Tech Metals' Super Chatter Free material, offers several advantages over traditional materials.

Super Chatter Free (Diemitech):

• resists erosion, scaling, chipping and breakage
• minimizes soldering and heat checking
• is machinable, similar to gray cast iron
• withstands thermal shock
• doesn't require costly heat treatment (tools can be placed into service as machined)
• maintains superior physical properties at high temperatures

With high-thermal conductivity (three to four times that of steel), and low-thermal expansion (one-third that of steel), Super Chatter Free (Diemitech) is an excellent choice for high-heat applications. Its high density and rigidity also make longer tool extensions possible, with ratios of up to 10:1, depending on the tool's diameter.
