Measuring principle: eddy current Speed range: 500 ... 400,000 rpm Number of blades: 2 up to 17 blades Output: 1 pulse/blade, 1 pulse/revolution (TTL-level) 0 ... 10 V - 0 ... 400,000 Rpm (analog) Operating temperature sensor: -40 to +235 °C • -40 to +455°F No rotor modification necessary!
A coil is potted in a sensor case and is energized by a high frequency alternating current. The electromagnetic field from the coil generates eddy currents in the turbocharger blade. Every blade generates a pulse. The controller identifies the speed (analog 0 ... 10 V) by considering the number of blades.
The system is optimized for mobile and stationary use in test and R&D operations. Differet sensor models with only 3 mm diameter allow simple mounting on the turbo charger. Adjustment and set up of the sensor are made very easy due to a status LED.
The extensive length of the sensor cable (up to 25m) and the different signal outputs guarantee great flexibility for the application.
