The Conax MK gland is a reusable steel fitting designed for pressure or vacuum sealing of tubes or probes. It uses a stainless steel ferrule to create a metal-to-metal seal. The MK gland is often used for pressure or vacuum sealing of thermocouple and RTD probes, tube-shielded thermistor probes, laboratory test lines or similar applications where the joint must be opened and resealed in the same setting. The MK gland features the Conax-designed "soft sealant" technology that uses the compression of a material within a fixed housing to develop a strong seal. The midlock fitting is freely adjustable until first tightened. After tightening, it may be opened and resealed at the same immersion depth. Resealing will only be successful for a limited number of times. The stainless steel ferrule is deformed against the tube and makes a seal without cutting the sheath surface. The single ferrule is self-aligning, so there are no lost pieces. For use in pressures from vacuum to 10,000 psi (690 bar) and temperature range from cryogenic to +1600º F (+870º C). This gland is suitable for use in high vibration applications.
