Sonic horns are used throughout the dairy and pharmaceutical industry in spray drying and baghouse applications among other applications. They effectively fluidize compacted solid particles so that they flow freely by using low frequency sound waves. The discrete frequency power generated by the horns reduce the accumulation of agglomerated particles. Sonic horns have been successfully used to reduce pressure drop across the baghouse as well as alleviate filter bag sidewall bridging. Horns installed in spray dryers can eliminate buildup and reduce under grade product.
