Every design element of the NMRV and NRV worm reducers focuses on eliminating the one undeniable worm reducer issue: leaks caused by heat build-up in the reducer. Motovario worm reducers are built to elimiate heat as a concern for worm reducer users. The aluminum alloy housing combined with its patented heat sink design has greater thermal conductivity and surface area than other reducers so the heat will bleed off the reducer into the atmosphere. Less heat in the reducer means less pressure in the reducer acting on the seals. Two bearings along the input shaft stabilize the worm shaft. This prevents wear on the input seal (and therefore leaks) and helps the gears run more efficiently. Also helping the efficiency is a hardened and ground worm gear. Better efficiency means less heat generated by the gearing.
The NMRV & NRV worm reducers use o-rings on all mating surfaces. By using o-rings instead of paper gaskets, the reducers are sealed better and more capable of handling high oil temperatures.
Becasue of these design features, no compression chamber, vent plug or breather is required on the NMRV & NRV worm reducers. They are maintenance-free and sealed for life, preventing any risk of oil oxidation and contamination. This also means the reducers can be universally mounted.
The housings come standard with polyester epoxy paint applied on the inside and outside of the gearcase to protect against any corrosion and add to the reducer's durability.
Transmission ratios from 5:1 to 100:1 in single worm mean increased options and greater application flexibility.
