The NDT Technologies Eddy Current Inspection System, on a cart, offers the user the capability to inspect small lots of parts, by hand, on a mobile platform. These inspections can be performed to verify part geometry, chemistry or hardness, and occur in real time, while the eddy current probe or coil is moved into or over the part.
The inspection system utilized to inspect the parts is the NDT Technologies Pro Series Profiler, capable of profiling parts with either non-contact or contact eddy current probes and displaying these profiles on a computer screen. The inspection system automatically calculates the part accept/reject limits from a review of ten, typical, good parts during a "Learn" process. These limits can then be adjusted by the user, as required, to represent the characteristics of the ideal "virtual" part, allowing the inspection process to be optimized.
The memory within the inspection system is capable of storing the learned profiles from any number of parts, as swell as the part profiles themselves. This information can then be downloaded from the system via USB or Ethernet ports mounted on the monitor stand.
Fixturing, required to hold the part during the inspection process, can be provided either by NDT Technologies or by the user. One set of part fixturing is typically delivered with the system along with prints that will allow the user to fabricate additional fixtures as required. Fixturing for additional parts can also be quoted separately.
The inspection capabilities of these systems include the following applications:
