N-TRON's new 708TX and 708FX2 Industrial Ethernet switches expand the remarkable 700 Series family, adding higher copper port count products to the line. The 708TX has eight 10/100BaseTX copper ports, and the 716FX2 has six 10/100Base copper ports and two 100BaseFX fiber ports. The 708 is perfectly suited for tough environments where there is a requirement to network larger numbers of Ethernet capable devices. Applications include video surveillance systems which require numerous cameras; manufacturing machines or cells with numerous PLC's, sensors, etc., and many other applications. The 708 family includes advanced management and monitoring features, industrially hardened construction, and a space saving package - all at a very affordable price. The 708 products join the 9000 series modular Industrial Ethernet Switches and the 7018 gigabit capable switches to form a complete line of the toughest and most capable managed Industrial Ethernet switches available anywhere.
New software features include DHCP Client, Server, DHCP Option 61, DHCP Option 82 relay agent capability, and Local Port IP addressing. This wide palette of features can be used to make IP Address assignment automatic when installing or replacing connected devices. EtherNetI/P - CIP messaging is now included to enhance interoperability with PLC's. The new N-Link™ feature enhances N-Ring by providing the capability to redundantly link N-Rings. All 700 Series switches are fully managed and come standard with IGMP Snooping, VLAN, QoS, Trunking, Port Mirroring, RSTP, and N-TRON's N-Ring Technology. For ease of configuration and monitoring, Web Browser management and N-View™ OLE for Process Control Server Software are included. This software can be combined with popular HMI software packages to add network traffic monitoring, trending, and alarming to any application using N-TRON switches. SNMP v1, v2, and v3 plus a COM port interface are available for switch link and status monitoring.
The N-TRON 700 Series switches are ideal candidates for use as Ring Managers. These switches utilize N-TRON's exclusive N-Ring technology to offer expanded ring size capacity, N-Link to communicate across N-Rings, detailed fault diagnostics, and a standard heal time of ˜30ms. A 700 Series product configured as a Ring Manager periodically check the health of the Ring via packets. If the Ring Manager stops receiving the health check packets, it converts the Ring to a linear bus topology within ˜30ms. N-Ring technology offers capacity for a network with up to 250 fully managed N-TRON switches participating in N-Ring topologies. When using all N-TRON fully managed switches in the ring, a detailed ring map and fault location chart will be shown on the Ring Manager's web browser as well as on the N-View OPC Server displaying the health status of the ring. A configurable Alarm Contact allows notification for up to 6 different conditions.
