W.C. Branham announces the 491 Series of caliper disc brakes with choice of hydraulic or pneumatic service.

The 491 Series nicely fits between the small bore 38 Series (1X) and large bore 962 series (10x) with a 5X braking torque power factor. The brake has a 4.91 sq. inch piston area which is capable of producing a clamping force of 491 lbf per 100 psi and is rated to 1500 psi pressure.

In addition to choice of service, a user also has choice of single or double actuation for fixed or floating brake discs as well as choice of Buna N or EPR seals.

A 491 Series brake will fit on brake discs with unlimited diameter. W.C. Branham offers spacer options to accommodate 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1, and 1-1/8 inch disc thicknesses. The 491 is also available with no spacer so that the user can supply their own for other brake disc thicknesses up to 2 inches.

Friction pads are replaceable and easy to install.

The 491 series brakes are made from durable, hard coat aluminum housings and offer a lighter unit weight solution than competitor models.
